The Grand Lake is proud to be one of only a few theaters in Northern California to present two projector 3-D.
We have the best 3-D you will ever see in any movie house and we offer our exclusive “3-D Guarantee” which is: “If you do not think that our 3-D is the best you have ever seen, come out during the first 15 minutes of the film for a full refund.” (Of course you will not be able to stay for the rest of the movie.)
Why is two projector 3-D the best?
All of the single projector 3-D systems in theaters utilize some type of add-on technology to create a 3-D image. The polarized lenses in the 3-D glasses are designed to filter the screen image so that each eye sees the image it is supposed to see out of the two images that are projected onto the screen. The polarizing filters in the projector and in the glasses severely cut down the light levels that reach your eyes. All of the one projector systems suffer from inadequate light. By using two projectors the light levels are double that of the single projector systems and thus you do not get a dark image.
With a two projector system our union projectionist (yes, the Grand Lake Theater has a well trained union projectionist on staff at all times) is able to focus the image for each eye independently so as to achieve a level of clarity that is impossible for a one projector presentation.
We have been told countless times by our customers that they cannot stand to watch a 3-D movie anywhere else because it gives them headaches and eye strain but, at the Grand Lake, they enjoy 3-D.
If you have not seen a 3-D movie at the Grand Lake you have never seen 3-D as it can be!
